Description

To assist members and potential members with their Credit Union needs; explains products/services, performs maintenance on member accounts, responds to problems, and directs members to the appropriate people. Maintains current knowledge of all credit union products and services.

Responsibilities:

• Receives and processes member financial transactions, including deposits, withdrawals and loan payments; sells money orders to members; transfers amounts from member accounts as directed.
• Actively cross sells and provides product and service guidelines to members. Identifies additional products and services to meet member’s needs. Establishes SCCU as our member’s PFI (primary financial institution). Refers members to specialized departments as appropriate.
• Assists members with any problems on existing accounts. Performs accurate file maintenance of member account information and processes other requests as needed.
• Post transactions to member accounts and maintain member records.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Performance Measurements

• Actively cross sells and provides product and service guidelines to members. Identifies additional products and services to meet member’s needs. Establishes SCCU as our member’s PFI (primary financial institution). Refers members to specialized departments as appropriate.
• To have no more than three unresolved monetary variances of $25.00 or more and/or a single monetary variance of $50.00 or more and/or three or more monetary variances per week regardless of amount, for several consecutive weeks.
• To assist members waiting in the lobby within five minutes but acknowledge their presence as soon as possible.
• To provide friendly, professional, personal service to all members.

Knowledge & Skills

• Experience: One month to twelve months of similar or related experience.
• Education: A high school education or GED.
• Interpersonal Skills: Work normally involves contacts with persons beyond immediate associates generally regarding routine matters for purposes of giving or obtaining information which may require some discussion. Outside contacts take the form of service to the public (members or vendors) requiring ordinary courtesy in providing assistance and information.
• Other Skills: Ten key calculator and computer keyboard by touch. Must be good with detail to deal with numbers and names.
